Katich was the next wicket caught by Ojha at mid on of the bowling of Symonds and the Kings XI were struggling at 26/3. Yuvraj and Sangakkara joined in the middle to steady the innings. They managed to add 26 runs for the fourth wicket before a straighter deliver from Venugopal Rao disturbed the middle stumps of Yuvraj. Yuvraj looked settled with 20 runs in 18 balls. Kings XI Punjab scored 55/4 in their first 10 overs. Mota and Sangakkara took the score to 105/4 at the end of 16 overs. Suman got the better of Mota who was looking to break free, caught at mid wicket by Harris. Sangakkara also got out at crucial stage for 56 runs of just 43 balls. Irfan Pathan scored quick 17 runs in 11 balls. Lee played 5 balls and couldn’t manage a single out of that. Kings XI Punjab ended their innings scoring 134 for the loss of 7 wickets. RP Singh was the pick of the bowler took 3/26 and got back the purple cap.

Deccan Chargers needed 135 to win the match and move to the top of the table. Gilchrist plays only way i.e. aggressively. He hit 3 fours and a six of the second over bowled by Irfan Pathan. Chargers were crusing along with 34 runs in 4 overs before Powar get two wickets of two balls. He deceived both Gilchrist and Suman of the concecutive deliveries. Yuvraj continued his spell and took the wicket of Symonds the first ball of his second over. Symonds was stumped by Sangakkara and he scored 25(25). Rao was the next man in and faced the hat trick ball. This time Yuvraj bowled the arm ball and Venugopal Rao lets it go knocking the off stumps out. Second hat trick by Yuvraj in this IPL and all of a sudden pressure back on Deccan Chargers. Rohit Sharma yet again looked good to take away the game from opposition, he scored 3 sixes and 3 fours. Deccan Chargers just needed 11 runs of the last over and they had the man who scored 21 yesterday, Rohit Sharma facing. Irfan Pathan was the bowler and Sharma managed 6 runs of the first 2 balls. Next ball is given as wides and they just needed 4 runs in 4 balls. Rohit Sharma got out for 42 runs scored in 26 balls. RP Singh came in and he was caught and bowled by Pathan. Harris just managed 2 runs in the last ball. Deccan Chargers were short of the target by just 1 run.

This victory gives Kings XI Punjab a chance to get a semi finals and they have to win their next game in the league matches. Deccan Chargers still are in the third position with 14 points and a game to play. Semi final spots still open for 5 teams to fight it out.
