Shane Warne won the crucial toss and elected to field first. The pitch was damp due to showers earlier the day and it was expected to assist bowlers upfront. Rajasthan Royal bowlers bowled well and Royal Challengers lost wickets in regular intervals inspite for few drop catches. They could just manage 29 runs in the powerplay, losing 3 wickets. Jaffer was the first to go making just 8 runs in 9 balls, Kallis scored 10(14) including a six. Dravid got out for a duck gloving the ball outside leg to wicketkeeper Ojha. Ravindra Jadeja came to bowl and picked up Uthappa plumb infront with a straighter delivery. He picked up 2 more wickets ending his spell of 4 overs with 3/15. Amit bowled exceptionally well in the depth and took 4 wickets giving away just 19Runs. Royal Challengers just managed to get 105 runs losing all their wickets in 20 overs.
Kumble and Co., couldn’t do much with the ball as the bowlers failed to bowl tight line and they were hit all over the park. Smith scored 20(22) before being bowled out by his team mate Kallis. Carseldine was run out in a mixup as both the batsmen ended up in same side. He was given out by thrid umpire as they were confused as who is out. Yusuf Pathan was the only other wicket Rajasthan lost as he top-edged a short ball from du Preez, after scoring 22(19). Ojha played some good shots and got to his 50 and winning shot of the match, hitting a short ball from Praveen to mid wicket. He scored 52 runs in 38 balls.

Royal Challengers never looked to be in the game from the start and were clearly outplayed by Royals. With this 7Wicket win, Rajasthan Royals moved to the top of the table with 11 points but that lasted only for 4 1/2 hrs as Chennai Super Kings won the other match later in the day.
